Aerospace describes the human effort in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
and business to fly in
the atmosphere of Earth (aeronautics)
and surrounding space (astronautics).

 Aerospace organizations:
research, design, manufacture, operate
and maintain aircraft and spacecraft.
Aerospace activities and careers are very diverse, with a multitude of commercial, industrial and military applications.

There is an infinite amount of information available on all things related to Aerospace.

AeroED Group
Aerospace Education Program

Attract and retain students in STEM disciplines —To compete effectively for the minds, imaginations and career ambitions of America’s young people, AeroED Group focuses on engaging and retaining students in STEM education programs. The goal is to encourage their pursuit of educational disciplines critical to America’s future engineering, scientific and technical missions.  Topics include aerodynamics, propulsion, materials science, space operations, meteorology, robotics, with emphasis on application of STEM. Many additional topics can be tailored for specific needs.

Engage American Youth and Teachers — The AeroED Group builds strategic partnerships and linkages between STEM formal and informal education providers. Through hands-on, interactive, educational activities, the AeroED Group will engage students, educators, families, the general public and all agency stakeholders to increase American science and technology literacy.

TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. This is for teachers responsible for implementing STEM in the school classrooms. The focus is to orient teachers about the robustness and use of aerospace.

SCHOOLS CLASSROOM/ASSEMBLY PRESENTATIONS. This program features a multitude of opportunities concerning STEM academics, career potential, motivation, or aviation history.

AFTER-SCHOOL STEM PROGRAM. This program features assistance to local teachers who wish to include aviation as part of their project. Pilots or other aviation instructors are eager to engage and offer their skills.
MOBILE FLIGHT SIMULATOR PROJECT. A unique mobile simulator system can be custom integrated to enhance any of the above offerings. Hands-on piloting, with a structured goal supervised by a qualified pilot, will reinforce the student experience.

FIELD TRIPS TO MILITARY AIRFIELDS, AVIATION MUSEUMS, OTHER AIRPORTS. These facilities readily offer an open door for youth groups to witness the results and application of STEM topics. Other locations include the San Diego regional airports and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) control systems.

ONLINE EDUCATION TOPICS. Our AeroED Group website features aviation educational materials and links. Students may ask questions or chat about a topic.

MORE PROJECTS.  AeroED Group augments STEM programs with the opportunity to engage youth and teachers in other aviation experiences such as building projects, collaboration with aerospace industry visits, professional role models and mentors. Orientation flights in light aircraft will also enhance all other experiences.

SUPPORTING STAFF CONSORTIUM. AeroED Group seeks volunteers: Retired/available professionals looking for meaningful activity. Preferably experienced Aerospace engineers, HR career placement/internship experts, manufacturers, managers, administrators, educators, and mentors/leaders.

Flight is the process by which an object moves, through an atmosphere (especially the air) or beyond it (as in the case of spaceflight), by generating aerodynamic liftpropulsive thrustaerostatically using buoyancy, or by movement, without direct support from any surface.

Many things fly, from natural aviators such as birdsbats and insects to human inventions such as missilesaircraft such as airplaneshelicopters and balloons, to rockets such as spacecraft.

The engineering aspects of flight are studied in aerospace engineering which is subdivided into aeronautics, the study of vehicles that travel through the air, and astronautics, the study of vehicles that travel through space, and in ballistics, the study of the flight of projectiles.
